HIV/AIDS represents a critical global health issue characterized by the spread of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) which, if untreated, progresses to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), a condition where the immune system is severely compromised, leading to life-threatening infections and cancers. Despite significant advances in treatment, such as antiretroviral therapy (ART) that can control the virus and prevent transmission, challenges remain in ensuring universal access to prevention, treatment, and care. The epidemic continues to pose significant social, economic, and health impacts, particularly in regions with limited resources and high prevalence rates. Efforts to combat HIV/AIDS are focused on reducing new infections, improving access to treatment, and addressing the stigma and discrimination faced by those living with the virus.
